Foam stocking should include not only what is on the apparatus but what do you have to replace it when used.

Stocking foam

Class A/B
SVFD should maintain a minimum Class A/B foam stock (NOT INCLUDING STORED BUCKETS ON APPARATUS) of (TEN) 5 gallon buckets.
We are considered full on stock when we have 24 additional 5 gallon buckets of Class A/B. (24 buckets is one pallet)
Alcohol Resistant
We do not currently have additional (beyond what is on apparatus) stock of 3%/3% AR-AFFF. As a future goal, we could share costs and host storage of a pallet (24 buckets) which would be available for mutual aid response to neighboring jurisdictions for incidents involving E85, Ethanol or other polar solvents.

Our current foam supplier is US Foam Technologies.

Using other foam products during incidents
Do not pour other foam products into the tank of E62 or Brush 6 that are not Class A/B rated with exception of certain emergency situations!
Scenario 1
You are operating on an urban interface fire and have used all Class A/B in E62's tank and spare buckets. You are actively protecting homes and engaged in firefighting operations, Class A/B from SVFD cannot be delivered in time and all that can be provided from Logisitcs is a Class A foam product...... use it and continue protecting homes.
Use your best judgement. You may only need to add 1, 2 or 3 buckets at a time to finish the job or you suspect there is enough work ahead that it would be prudent to fill the entire tank.
After arriving back at SVFD, the tank & proportioner should be flushed thoroughly and resupplied with Class A/B product.
E62 would not be capable of Class B firefighting operations until this is completed.

Ordering Foam
Our supplier is US Foam Technologies. Call 1-800-595-3626 or visit the website http://www.usfoam.com.
When replacing Class A/B, you should order:
Class A/B, 5 gallon pails of hydrated. Typically 1 pallet (24 pails) and there will be freight charges.
When replacing 3%-3%:
3%-3% AR-AFFF in 5 gallon pails in a quantity to replace whatever has been used.

Scenario 2
Engine 62 is used to attack a hydrocarbon fire and all onboard foam concentrate has been used. 3%-3% AR-AFFF from engine 63 & ladder 6 may also be used. Mutual aid foam only says "Class B" not "Class A/B"..... use it. Both are still a class B concentrate and although we do not know every specification on viscosity etc, we would make the decision to use all incoming class B concentrates.
Best judgement would still be used on flushing the tank after operations are completed.
Note: All foam concentrate use requires equipment to be flushed such as eductors, foam proportioners, hose and nozzles.

Have pallets shipped to the training center so the forklift can be used for unloading.
